Big Sky Propane was built on a simple idea: customers deserve a propane company they can count on.

After spending more than two decades in the propane industry, our family recognized an opportunity to bring a different level of service to Southwest Montana. We saw a growing community that needed a dependable, locally focused propane provider—one that values relationships as much as reliability. With that vision, Big Sky Propane was founded.

As a family-owned and operated business, we understand that propane isn’t just another utility. It keeps homes warm through Montana winters, powers local businesses, fuels ranches and farms, and helps families create memories around fireplaces, grills, and cabins. That’s why we approach every customer with the same commitment we would expect for our own family.

From day one, we made significant investments to ensure our customers would never have to question our ability to serve them. Today, Big Sky Propane operates the largest propane storage capacity in the Big Sky area, with more than 150,000 gallons of on-site storage. We are also the only propane company in the region that owns the property where our storage facility is located, giving us greater control over our operations and allowing us to invest in the future of our business and our customers.

But facilities and equipment are only part of the story.
